Although you probably already understand the importance of abstaining from cigarettes and alcohol while you're pregnant, it's actually best to go ahead and quit now. If you get pregnant before you expect to, you won't have to worry about your baby being exposed to these harmful substances. Plus, you can help improve your chances of conceiving in a timely manner.

3. Start Taking a Vitamin

Now is the time to start taking a prenatal vitamin. You're sure to find that your own hair and skin have a special glow when taking your vitamins, and you can help ensure that your body has the nutrients that it needs to successful conceive and to nourish your baby.

4. See an Obstetrician

It's a good idea to schedule an appointment with an obstetrician now. Then, you can talk to your obstetrics professional about your concerns and can get advice for taking good care of yourself before and during your pregnancy. Plus, your doctor can help ensure that you don't have any medical issues that could get in the way of you getting pregnant.
