2 Pieces Of Fitness Equipment That Will Help Your Abs And Core Grow Stronger

Posted on

If you are looking for a way to strengthen your core and abdominal muscles this year, then getting some new fitness equipment can help you reach your goals. Here are 2 pieces of equipment that you should buy to use at home on a regular basis.

Elliptical Machine

First, an elliptical machine may not be the first piece of equipment you think of for your abs and core, but it can actually do a lot of good for these muscles.

To start, and elliptical requires balance if you only use the pedals without holding onto the handlebars. Even if you use the handlebars, you can still make your core work.

The best way to do this is by pulling your naval in toward your spine and then flex the muscles before you start to ride the elliptical. Next, start to ride and allow your ab muscles to pull your legs up and down as they pedal. This will take some of the focus off of your leg muscles, and your core will get a chance to work harder.

If you do not hold onto the handlebars, your core will get an even more intense workout because you will have to focus on balance and using your abs to rotate the pedals.

If you want to use the handles, then you can also increase your core workout by allowing your torso to twist slightly as your arms move with the bars.

Exercise Ball

Second, buy an exercise ball in addition to an elliptical because this pieces of equipment is inexpensive, it can work multiple parts of your body, and it will help your abs and core to become toned and beautiful.

One of the best ways to work on your core is by placing the front of your thighs on the ball with your hands on the ground in front of the ball. Next, pull your knees in toward your chest, and allow the ball to roll all the way down to your feet.

You will have to use great control in your core to roll the ball down, and your lower abs will contract as you pull your knees in toward your chest. You can also pull your knees in at an angle so that your far knee is close to the opposing shoulder. This will give you three ways to target different muscles with a variation on the same basic move.

By purchasing these 2 pieces of equipment, you can be on your way to reaching your core fitness goals this year. Talk to your local athletic equipment store, such as Gym Outfitters Inc, for more information.
